Today's look is definitely a walk on the wild side for me. I don't usually do short and tight, but with this lovely weather we've been having and school ending, I had to bring out the big guns (pun intended). You know I love print, color and a little skin. So I threw on my mirrored, tropical dress from FTF, my new strappy, black heels and went on my way!

Speaking of these heels, shoes are really becoming a pivotal part of my wardrobe. Thigh-high boots, platforms even creepers can be found in my growing shoe collection. But during this accumulation, I do try to watch what I spend on each pair of boots or heels. True fashionistas know when to invest and splurge or save and pass. So when Erin from Credit Card Insider asked if I'd share my Splurge vs. Save piece with her, I knew it would be a pair of cute heels!

Now I love designer pieces like the next woman, but before I shell out almost a grand for barely there, Gucci sandal heels I noticed on the blog scene and red carpets, I hunt. The hunt didn't last too long, thankfully. If you follow me on Instagram, you know how pleased I was to find these babies! I walked into my local Target, which I rarely do, and found these almost identical heels on the counter [insert heart eye emoji]. Girl, I nearly did a back flip. So thirty dollars and an Instagram post later, I was walking off in the sun with my new shoes that I didn't have to sell my soul for and in fact, I actually saved about 95% of what I would have spent at Neiman Marcus.

So there ya go! But before I get going, I have to thank Kat Quarterman and everyone that sponsored the South Jersey Fashion Weekend I attended a few weeks back. The collections were phenomenal and the venue was beautiful. It felt like I was front row at a wedding, not a fashion show, underneath that huge white, tent at the Flying W Airport. Can't wait until the next show! Check out pictures on my Instagram @BITEMYHEATHBAR or on SoJFW Facebook page here. Okay guys, until next time! Bye!

xoxo Kiersten

P.S I graduate from Rutgers University tomorrow (yay me!) and so I wanted to give a quick shoutout to all the graduates of 2014- college, high school...heck even you middle schoolers! We made it ya'll! Time to keep going!

  1. Love the dress, the pattern is amazing. Love the way you layered it this look. I agree that a true fashionista knows when to buy something, however sometimes the approach of quality or quantity is used.
