Hey guys & dolls! Okay so I don't know about you, but every year around this time my life starts to unravel. The weather is colder, work is harder, finals are around the corner and the fur coats I want online are full price! Ugh, the struggle! But thankfully, the light at the end of the tunnel is the fact that we have two major holidays to really analyze our life and realize, hey, it could be worse! Thanksgiving is this Thursday and I truly am amazed at how blessed I am. I have food on my plate and clothes on my back (and in my closets, and in my car, and in the mail). Jesus has blessed me with so much, that it's actually sad I only recognize it this time of year. We should be thankful everyday we wake up and find that our bodies are intact and our minds are still sharp, because honestly, He didn't have to do that. But you know what, most importantly, I'm blessed to have you! You guys will probably never know how much it means that you're even reading this. I love you.

Okay, enough of the mushy stuff. Let us get to the look-of-the-day! I've been buying kimono after kimono, and it doesn't seem to be stopping. But I have to say, this one is my favorite. I love the blue & black mixture against that textile print. I chose an all black ensemble to wear underneath because I wanted the kimono to be the focal point. I know it's a bit too cold to wear something this light, but you can get around it by pairing a turtleneck instead of a tank underneath or a long neutral colored jacket on top. Hope you like! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and I'll talk to you later!

P.S Make sure to eat! A lot! Because I will, and I don't want to feel like the only one!

The Camden Streets

Suit Jacket- Mossimo
Fringe Top- Forever 21
Jeans- Forever 21
Heels- BCBG
Bangles- Macy's
Earrings- Forever 21

This was a look I wore a little while ago to school in Camden. My university is located there, and as a freshman I was skeptical. You know, you hear so many horrible things about a place and it makes you weary of it. But over the years, I realized the heart of this city is actually pretty amazing; you can find people of all walks of life, a mash of cultures and a beautiful community. Granted, Camden does have some growing to do, but this city, if given the chance, can become a thriving, vibrant place to live and work (and go to school...yay Rutgers!).

Anyway, I wanted a laid-back, chill-out look, so I opted for my F21 ripped skinny jeans and a suit jacket. I actually have a matching suit pant to this blazer, but I thought that would be too much for your eyes. Besides, you have to be one confident cookie to rock the entire suit, given that print! Let me know how you feel about this look and I'll catch ya later alligator!

P.S Am I the only one that notices how similar the background of these pics are to the opening sequence of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? "Now, this is the story all about how/My life got flipped, turned upside down/And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there/I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air..."

Hey guys!! It has been a little over a month since I last talked to you, but so much has happend! I left my job and started two new ones! Two! One being a teacher too! So now I have those jobs, plus school, PLUS this blog. Whew! Ya'll keep praying for your girl. So much to do, so little time...but I'm sure you know how that is. I'm just happy I have you guys support and patience!

On to today's look-it brings out a major trend for this Fall: Fur! You can wear it as a jacket (as shown), a coat or as trim in a dress or skirt! Fur is the bomb.com people! It instantly livens any ensemble and adds a luxurious feel to a look. That's what I tried to accomplish with my outfit- a girl with an expensive looking fur but an even tighter budget! I played the fur up against my baroque print crop top & pencil skirt I bought from Target. Yes, Target girl. Cap it off with a pair of pumps, some gold bangles and a bordeaux lip, and you got yourself a sultry, sexy, glamorous look for any date night.

One last thing before I leave-this month marks one year of Bite My Heath Bar! I'm going to try to hold back the tears...wait...nope...(starts to cry uncontrollably). I love this blog so much because it gives me an outlet to showcase my wacky fashion, that otherwise only my friends and my professors would see. I'm humbled by all the features I've done and fans who have stood by me; I read every email, tweet, and post and I really do appreciate the feedback, good or bad. I'm still a newbie in this blog-o-sphere, but you make me feel welcome and I hope in the year to come this blog will reach higher heights. I want to be the next June Ambrose or Rachel Zoe people, hello! One day I hope...so thank you and I love you. Like, a lot.

Back-to-School

Peter Pan Collar Top- Forever 21
Studded Sweater- Forever 21
Faux Leather Skater Skirt- ASOS
Lucite Heels- Forever 21
Watch- Charming Charlie's

School time!!! Goodbye summer...until next time. September is here, so everybody is back to school, work or school AND work (like me ugh). I'm happy though, because this is definitely my season to shine! In today's look, I opted for a cute, girly feel with a nod to the past. The peter pan collar is sooo 1950's looking, which I love, but it is also very now because you know you see it everywhere. Speaking of everywhere, leather is e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e this season. I'm hype! Guys seriously, I've been buying leather pieces like crazy because this trend is so fierce, so me! So I think the sweater and the skirt meshed well, and the lucite heels to kick up the modern feel helped even more. This look worked from the campus to the job for me, but it could probably go farther. Let me know what you think sunshine! Okay, bye!
